Redmine GIS - Documentation #13992 (New): Units for Wind speed in automatic weather stationshttps://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/139922022-04-30T10:24:49ZGiulio Di Anastasiogiulioenrica@gmail.com

Dear Philippe, I came across this webpage which has been recently been set up by Bhuvan, the Indian Geo-Platform of ISRO (as they call themselves)
https://bhuvan.nrsc.gov.in/nhp/#/et-flux-dashboard
They have set up some particular stations for measuring certain parameters, in some locations (you can see the locations on the page)
Among other places, they have installed one station at Tindivanam, which is not far from here. I then checked the windspeed as reported in their web page, and compared with our windspeed: the order of magnitude of the reading is quite similar, but their unit is m/s, while our is km/h. Most probably their unit is correct. I checked our reading for yesterday, it was 4: if it is km/h then it is really very low. But if it is m/s then it becomes about 14 km/h which might be quite true.
Kindly give it some thought, we might need to re-define the unit...
GIS - Feature #13597 (New): Courage well: tags to add after publishinghttps://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/135972022-02-03T11:44:55ZGiulio Di Anastasiogiulioenrica@gmail.com

Courage well: the survey took 3 points on the casing: the three points define a circle (the casing), the center of the circle is a point which needs to be created by Raj, which will have the code of Borewell.
Inside the casing there are 2 pipes (from Auroville Water Service), because there are 2 separate pipelines and 2 pumps: during the survey (03.02.2022) one point for each pipe has been measured. When these data will be published, then a tag shall be created for each of these 2 AWS points, describing that these are two separate pipes for separate water distribution
Gisaf - Support #13107 (New): Errorshttps://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/131072021-10-27T05:55:54ZBala Ramachandran

From the introduction paper (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6899905/):

Time series analysis is an increasingly popular method to analyze heads measured in an observation well. Common applications include the quantification of the effect of different stresses (rainfall, pumping, etc.), and the detection of trends and outliers. Pastas is a new and open source Python package for the analysis of hydrogeological time series. The objective of Pastas is twofold: to provide a scientific framework to develop and test new methods, and to provide a reliable ready‐to‐use software tool for groundwater practitioners.

Pastas is a Python library that based on Pandas and Jupyter, and defines models for groundwater behavior based on a practical set of parameters (stresses).

I'll try it with our data in Jupyter notebooks, and post here my findings.

@Giulio: i suggest you have a look at the link above, as it looks very interesting for us.
GIS - Support #11497 (New): Add log book information to raingauges, etchttps://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/114972020-12-21T07:10:55ZPhilippe May

As discussed Saturday 19th Dec., Redmine can be used as a log book for keeping records for readings (raingauges, etc).

The details/process can be discussed here in this ticket.
GIS - Documentation #11448 (New): Meaning of colors for wells in the maphttps://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/114482020-12-09T11:56:09ZGiulio Di Anastasiogiulioenrica@gmail.com

Wells in the map are represented with different colors: blue, gray, brown, yellow, red.
While it is clear that gray means that no monitoring ever happened, and blue means that the well has been monitored for some time, and yellow means that the level iks below sea level, still it remains unclear what is the meaning of red color (see for example in Discipline) and brown color (see Aurovelo, id 76).

There have been people asking for this topic
GIS - Support #9736 (New): Enter correct day and time of the measurements of the wellshttps://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/97362020-02-18T11:53:25ZPhilippe May

All recent times of monitoring of the well levels show around 4 to 5 PM.

This shows that you don't enter the time when you took the levels, but the time when you entered the value in the system. Also and more importantly, we even lose the day when you measured if you enter don't enter the levels that same day!

It's important to put proper the information there! From now on, please be careful.

Also, can you correct all the records with wrong information?
GIS - Documentation #9735 (New): Disciplane farm well: wrong depthhttps://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/97352020-02-18T11:45:52ZPhilippe May

The information about of the depth is 12 m, but the level monitored can go down to -60 m
GIS - Task #8746 (New): Updating and Standardizing Symbology and Color for features in the AV Geo...https://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/87462019-08-02T05:36:56ZDebojyoti Mallickdebojyoti.mallick@outlook.com

Updating the Color Codes for the features in the AV Geomatics Portal.*

- Color codes need to be standardize.
- We have referred to the Land Based Classification Standards by the American Planning Association.
- We did refer to different standards within the maps used in India but unfortunately none of them follow a single standard.
- Survey of India does not make their standards public.
- Referred to Google Maps color standards of vector symbology
- Finally settled on using the American Land Based Classification Standards for the Major Groups because it also matched with the color codes proposed to be used with our survey data.
- Will refer to architects or the Town Hall if they do use any kind of standards.
GIS - Task #8567 (New): Delaunay 2D and 3D triangulation using catchment points and their elevationshttps://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/85672019-06-28T09:00:04ZDebojyoti Mallickdebojyoti.mallick@outlook.com

Need to know how to handle exceptions in python so that we know when things go wrong in a code even though the syntax is correct.

Dear Bala,
it looks like there is a new well in Sacred Groves, I checked on our Gisaf but I did not see any well there.
Can you please go there and check it? Please take also the position with GPS, and photo.
Try to understand also if there are reports on this well (depth, casing, slots, date of drilling) or who has the report.

Please let me know
