Redmine GIS - Documentation #13992 (New): Units for Wind speed in automatic weather stationshttps://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/139922022-04-30T10:24:49ZGiulio Di Anastasiogiulioenrica@gmail.com

Dear Philippe, I came across this webpage which has been recently been set up by Bhuvan, the Indian Geo-Platform of ISRO (as they call themselves)
https://bhuvan.nrsc.gov.in/nhp/#/et-flux-dashboard
They have set up some particular stations for measuring certain parameters, in some locations (you can see the locations on the page)
Among other places, they have installed one station at Tindivanam, which is not far from here. I then checked the windspeed as reported in their web page, and compared with our windspeed: the order of magnitude of the reading is quite similar, but their unit is m/s, while our is km/h. Most probably their unit is correct. I checked our reading for yesterday, it was 4: if it is km/h then it is really very low. But if it is m/s then it becomes about 14 km/h which might be quite true.
Kindly give it some thought, we might need to re-define the unit...
GIS - Support #13445 (New): Jupyter notebook for rnoff calculation: kernel not connectinghttps://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/134452021-12-31T09:32:26ZGiulio Di Anastasiogiulioenrica@gmail.com

Dear Philippe,
I tried to re-run the jupyter notebook to update the runoff model with all data from the survey done in the last 2 years.
I opened the notebook, and then tried to restart the kernel and then re-run the whole notebook: but it does not work, and the icon in the upper-right corner tells me that the kernel is disconnected, even after trying several times...

Perhaps you can guide me on this...

Thanks

Happy New Year

After working on #13258, the rain data for CSR WS in Gisaf should have been updated and show figures of the massive rain pouring yesterday.

But, the rainfall data is stuck at 0, only for that weather station.
Gisaf - Support #13107 (New): Errorshttps://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/131072021-10-27T05:55:54ZBala Ramachandran

Wells in the map are represented with different colors: blue, gray, brown, yellow, red.
While it is clear that gray means that no monitoring ever happened, and blue means that the well has been monitored for some time, and yellow means that the level iks below sea level, still it remains unclear what is the meaning of red color (see for example in Discipline) and brown color (see Aurovelo, id 76).

There have been people asking for this topic
GIS - Feature #11329 (New): Boundary Stones Updationhttps://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/113292020-11-12T07:03:32ZGiulio Di Anastasiogiulioenrica@gmail.com

So far, Boundary Stones have been stored in one single category, V-TOPO-BDST, name:T2.

But:
Boundary stones have been surveyed in two ways:

by our team, when they found a stone in the field and they thought it is a Boundary Stone, but it has not been confirmed by Land Board because LB did not visit the place. We can call these stones as Unconfirmed Boundary Stones, and the category is the old one we were using for boundary stones (V-TOPO-BDST, Name: T2). At the moment we have 29 of these.

by Land Board team, and then recorded by our team. In this case, there are several different situations:

Government Stones: they are physically present in the field, are visible and we can survey them, and for sure they have been placed by GOvernment Surveyors. The category and name are V-TOPO-GBST, T61. At the moment we have 28 of these.

Close Boundary Stones: their location is identified by Land Board, but the stones are not physically present (if they have been removed) or are not visible (if they have been covered by earth, e.g. in bunds), or are indicated by stoned placed by Auroville Land Board (this info is usually shared by Land Board surveyors). The category and name are V-TOPO-CBST, T62. At the moment we have 23 of these.

Approximate Boundary Stones: their location is approximately identified by Land Board surveyor, but for some reason the location is not accessible (dense bush, thorns, etc.), so a nearby point is surveyed, therefore its position is only approximate. The category and name are V-TOPO-ABST, T63. At the moment we do not have any of these.

As said, so far in Gisaf the boundary stones (43 of them) have been all stored in V-TOPO-BDST (T2), irrespective of their status.

Now data have been cleared, and a text file has been created for each of the above categories.

The first thing to be done should be to delete all the points stored now in the T2 table, and then upload one by one the text files, and import into the database.

Kindly let me know if I can proceed deleting the points from the Admin interface.

All recent times of monitoring of the well levels show around 4 to 5 PM.

This shows that you don't enter the time when you took the levels, but the time when you entered the value in the system. Also and more importantly, we even lose the day when you measured if you enter don't enter the levels that same day!

It's important to put proper the information there! From now on, please be careful.

Updating the Color Codes for the features in the AV Geomatics Portal.*

- Color codes need to be standardize.
- We have referred to the Land Based Classification Standards by the American Planning Association.
- We did refer to different standards within the maps used in India but unfortunately none of them follow a single standard.
- Survey of India does not make their standards public.
- Referred to Google Maps color standards of vector symbology
- Finally settled on using the American Land Based Classification Standards for the Major Groups because it also matched with the color codes proposed to be used with our survey data.
- Will refer to architects or the Town Hall if they do use any kind of standards.
GIS - Task #8567 (New): Delaunay 2D and 3D triangulation using catchment points and their elevationshttps://redmine.auroville.org.in/issues/85672019-06-28T09:00:04ZDebojyoti Mallickdebojyoti.mallick@outlook.com
