Steps to check Aurinoco Connection at AVES EPM and Solar Monitoring Sites

Steps for AVES & Varuna

  1. Do a ping test from office with the IP address allocated for the EPM.
  2. Send a message that something is going wrong at the EPM location(For our awareness).
  3. Still go to the site.
  4. Check LED lights on the AONT and MC (Media Convertor).
  5. If AONT/MC LED not blinking then check the electrical power (For UPS & TNEB 210V to 230V).
  6. If AONT GPON LED is red or flickering then take a picture and contact Aurinoco support.
  7. Check if all the LED of MC (100 Mbps - all 6 LED will blink & for 1G - 5 LED will blink) are blinking and if not then take a picture and contact Aurinoco support.
  8. Check the WiFi connectivity.
  9. If connected then do a ping test once again.
  10. If WiFi connectivity is not available then unplug and plug again Ethernet cable as well as reboot the AONT & MC.
  11. After this AONT or MC or Router not working then send an email to Aurinoco support with issue description.
  12. Attach the pictures with the email.
  13. Acknowledgment email will be sent by Aurinoco Support regarding the issue.
  14. Then Aurinoco support will create an issue and assign it to Network Team.

Overall Steps

  • Check the electrical power source at site, either TNEB (210V to 230V) or UPS (210V to 230V). Recommend to use networking devices on UPS

Checking LED indicators on AONT (Alphion Optic Network Terminal):

  1. Green light on - PWR, PON and LAN indicates operational state
  2. Red light on - LOS indicates Loss of signal from source - Contact Aurinoco support
  3. Red light or flickering green light on PWR - indicates issue with power adapter or electric source
  4. Check input voltage on power adapter and report to Aurinoco support if failed

Check LED indicators on MC (Media Convertor)

  1. Green light on - PWR, fdx, fx, tx, 100mbps indicates operational state
  2. Stable Green light on PWR alone indicates no connectivity - Contact Aurinoco support
  3. Flickering Green light on PWR indicates issue with power adapter or electric source.
  4. Check input voltage on power adapter and report to Aurinoco support if failed
  5. Check the electrical power source at site.

Check LED indicators on Router (D-Link or TP-Link)

  1. Green light on - Internet, Power, WiFi and LAN (if Ethernet cable connected) indicates operational state
  2. Red light on Internet LED indicates no internet connection from MC or AONT
  3. Check physical connectivity between router and MC or AONT
  4. Check input voltage on power adapter and report to Aurinoco support if failed
  5. Check the electrical power source at site.

Do a ping test from AVES network to the respective site's IP address

  1. Open cmd (on Windows machine) or terminal (on Linux systems)
  2. Run command | ping 192.168.16.XXX (EPM IP addresses)
  3. Send an email to Aurinoco support with the ping test results and an issue description.
