What is Aurinoco's Jitsi service?

Since September 2021, Aurinoco provides the Jitsi videoconferencing service. It is free to Aurinoco subscribers.

It works for AVCAN, ERN and Internet-connected clients and may be more reliable than Zoom etc., especially when all clients are on AVCAN or ERN. To be updated when we have more operational experience.

Jitsi pages

A logon is required to create and moderate Jitsi videoconference meetings. Meetings can be created with the default random name (security by obscurity) or a name of your choice. More on the Jitsi security page above.

For further information and to request a logon, please contact Aurinoco support

Bugs

As reported. To be clarified
  • "After a screen share the video did not come back. Worked around by going into screen share again and back"
  • Jitsi does not work with at least one version of Apple's Safari
