Update speedtest.net section

The connection is slow. What to do?

TODO: create a separate page for the "Power cycle the network devices" steps (same text is used on The connection is not working. What to do?)

  1. If there is a download running, wait for it to finish or pause it
  2. Test the internal speed using http://speedtest.aurinoco.net (requires using Aurinoco's DNS service, details at Which_DNS_servers_to_use). Take a screen shot of the result
  3. Test the Internet speed using http://www.speedtest.net/. Click on "Change server" and search for Bangalore or Bharti. Choose Bharti Airtel Ltd, Bangalore. Click on Go. When the test has finished, take a screen shot of the result. If the download speed is lower than expected, mail the screen shot to
  4. Power cycle the network devices
    • For GPON Users
      • Turn off the router (TP-Link).
      • Turn off the Modem.
      • Turn on the Modem and wait for all the lights to come on.
      • Turn on the router and wait for all the lights to come on.
      • Check the speed.
    • For Non-GPON Users
      • Turn off the router (TP-Link).
      • Turn on the router and wait for all the lights to come on.
  5. For WiFi users
    • If the WiFi signal is low move the modem closer to the computer.
    • If that is not practicable or the WiFi signal is still too low, upgrade your router to a more powerful model.
  6. Is the connection slow for all Internet services? All websites? Email etc.?
    • If it's just Internet browsing, try various websites to see if they are all affected.
    • If it's just emails maybe the problem is with the email server. Give them time to fix it and re-test.

If the above steps didn't fix the Internet connection speed, contact Aurinoco via How to contact Aurinoco? by email including a screen shot of the speed test.
