h1. The connection is slow. What to do?

TODO: create a separate page for the "Power cycle the network devices" steps (same text is used on [[The connection is not working. What to do?]])

# If there is a download running, wait for it to finish or pause it
# Test the internal speed using http://speedtest.aurinoco.net (requires using Aurinoco's DNS service, details at [[Which_DNS_servers_to_use]]). Take a screen shot of the result
# Test the Internet speed using http://www.speedtest.net/. Click on "Change server" and search for Bangalore or Bharti. Choose Bharti Airtel Ltd, Bangalore. Click on Go. When the test has finished, take a screen shot of the result. If the download speed is lower than expected, mail the screen shot to support@aurinoco.net
# If you are unable to do speed-tests, [[power Power cycle the network devices]] devices
** *For GPON Users*
*** Turn off the router (TP-Link).
*** Turn off the Modem.
*** Turn on the Modem and wait for all the lights to come on.
*** Turn on the router and wait for all the lights to come on.
*** Check the speed.
** *For Non-GPON Users*
*** Turn off the router (TP-Link).
*** Turn on the router and wait for all the lights to come on.
# For WiFi users
** If the WiFi signal is low move the modem closer to the computer.
** If that is not practicable or the WiFi signal is still too low, upgrade your router to a more powerful model.
# Is the connection slow for all Internet services? All websites? Email etc.?
** If it's just Internet browsing, try various websites to see if they are all affected.
** If it's just emails maybe the problem is with the email server. Give them time to fix it and re-test.

If the above steps didn't fix the Internet connection speed, contact Aurinoco via [[How to contact Aurinoco?]] by email including a screen shot of the speed test.
